As I am always looking to photograph flowers I haven't photographed before, or to improve on the quality of those I have, I was given some sunflowers, which were a new challenge. Initially they were fresh, or so they appeared as I put them in water in a vase. The next day, petals were dropping very unexpectedly so I thought it might be a good time to capture what beauty I could. Surprisingly, they maintained where they were in their brief but lovely lifespan and I not only was able to catch the sunflower in this photo but several others as well.
