Still Life

Still Life

Still life photographs are not as easy as they look, but I think my attempts to give "life," so to speak, to these images have been successful. Giving common items a beauty of their own is a theme throughout all of my images. I will let their silent voices speak.

Voices From Within

Voices From Within

This series is a visual narrative of some of the internal, unspoken "voices" within each of us. Whether sleeping or awake, they fill the emotional spaces within our souls.

...With Grace

...With Grace

...With Grace is a collection of soft, graceful images of dance and simple beauty.

Entwined

Entwined

The 'Entwined' series is an experiment in color, being unencumbered and flux. In a way, it represents society with its diverse ethnic populations and the entwined complexity of those relationships. Ever-changing, these elements are always in a state of flux often producing surprising results. And while in reality, there are constraints on these relationships, it is my hope that the freedom expressed in these images might convey a different, more inclusive and accepting attitude toward one another.

Beauty Fading

Beauty Fading

This collection is a visual essay on the beauty that exists in nature as an object begins to fade. My attempt is to show that there is still a loveliness in the process. These photographs capture the beginning of the demise. And though, maybe not as lovely as its coming into fruition, there is still an elegance in their decline.

Blooms

Blooms

Flowers - The quintessential form of expressing thanks, sympathy, various greetings and love. Just about everyone enjoys buying or receiving flowers. Their beauty lassos the heart and captures the emotions.

In this series, "Blooms", my attempt is to convey the intrinsic beauty which lies within each blossom, whether fading or in bloom and touches the heart in a way nothing else can.

Evening Sketches

Evening Sketches

My series, "Evening Sketches", is still in progress. From the beauty of the evening light come these images. They are memories of the day written in the fluid language below.

Mist in the Meadows

Mist in the Meadows

I have always been drawn to the mist. There is an unknown about it, a rather translucence that allows the viewer only a glimpse of what it possesses; a mystery if you will, of what it holds.

"Mist in the Meadows" (also still in progress) is an enchanted glimpse into life when the mist sets in.

For the Love of Trees

For the Love of Trees

In this collection, I am hoping to convey the beauty of trees. While inanimate, their lives can be thought of as a reflection of ours; vulnerable to various elements and shaped by those experiences. Their beauty is defined in the graceful slope of each branch, while collectively those branches present a unique composition of arbor delight. I am continually amazed by the many ways to capture their essence.

In a Dream

In a Dream

What do you dream? Past events that hold special memories? Current circumstances that grate on your nerves?

In this collection of photographic dreams, I have chosen to offer images that might speak to my dreams. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Lace in the Afternoon

Lace in the Afternoon

One summer afternoon, I happened to notice the sun diffused, amongst the layers of a tied back, French lace curtain in one of my rooms. That is how this theme developed. It has expanded somewhat beyond lace curtains to envelope lace in and on its many shapes and forms.

The Heavens Declare

The Heavens Declare

Who doesn't love to see colors in the sky just before the close of the day, or the evening sky when the moon appears? It is one of my favorite things to watch. It is never the same twice. Never.

By the Sea

By the Sea

I have always loved my visits to the ocean. For me, there is an emotional calm that ebbs and flows inside. I hope these images portray a sense of peace and beauty for you, as you sit by the water's edge .

Crystal Formations

Crystal Formations

On frigid winter mornings, as the sun was barely up itself, I would find stunning designs formed on my windows. As their intricate patterns were fleeting, warmed by the rising sun, it was imperative to capture these astonishing works of frozen art as quickly as possible. Never to be duplicated, I treasure their delicate beauty.
